Episode 207 - Andrew Heyden

Andrew is wearing an wide-brimmed hat, smiling at the camera, and holding a singlet that says Run 2 Cure Neuroblastoma

Kia ora e te whānau. This week Eugene and Matt take a deep dive into the life lived in movement with Andrew Heyden. Andrew is the current age group holder of the 50km distance with a whopping 3:05:53. Andrew has been on the Australian 100km team for multiple years and has also completed the grueling Coast to Kosci 240km. This is an incredible conversation with a self professed regular dad who believes deeply that we are meant to move and that running throughout our lifespan is something that we are fundamentally meant to do. Funny, disarming, and wise, this is an engaging deep-dive into the mind of a highly performing athlete, who also happens to be the current world record holder for the fastest marathon dressed as a monk. Which was his second choice for apparel, but you’ll have to listen to the pod to hear about what his first was. Enjoy.
