Dirt Church Radio was started in 2018 by Matt Rayment and Eugene Bingham
Matt (right) lives in Riverhead with his wife and three children. He likes punk rock, books, and running. Sure of the fact that running and Fugazi saved his life, Matt can frequently be found dancing to all the wrong songs.
Eugene (left) is a husband, father and self-confessed running geek. He loves trails, even though he's about as nimble as a buffalo (and less sure-footed). A freelance writer, journalist and podcaster, Eugene is also learning te reo Māori, and has whakapapa links to Ngāpuhi.
What is Dirt Church?
Dirt Church is the self-proclaimed name of a group of runners who hit the trails at Riverhead Forest, north west of Auckland, NZ. Founding members were Matt, Gene Andrews, Tom Igusa, Simon Waller, Dave Jack, and Eugene. But now, most weekends, you'll find them and a bunch more in the dirt, giving thanks to the running gods by bombing down hills, slogging up climbs, talking lots of crap, laughing, and planning how to convert more shoe soles to the muddy delights of trail running. Hallelujah!
