Episode 205 - Dougal Allan

Dougal Allan competing in the Coast to Coast, on the run section. He has a bottle out with the lid off and is crossing a rocking river. He has a big smile.

Dougal Allan — life is for living, smiling, and drinking fresh mountain water.

Kia ora e te whānau. Dougal Allan is inspired to compete. A professional endurance coach and athlete with victories in road-based events such as Challenge Wanaka as well as the off-road formats such as the famous Coast to Coast and Xterra triathlon, Dougal is the epitome of someone who lives a life in movement. We discuss Dougal’s history in endurance sport, from his days as a student in Dunedin where $5 would get you a weeknight multisport event and all the sausage and bread you could handle, to becoming a two-time Coast to Coast champion. We also discuss his drive as he moves through his life, and the obvious, tragic pitfalls of wearing white lycra during an adventure race. Enjoy.
