Episode 214 - Simon Cochrane: The Claaaaw

Simon Cochrane is smiling holding "The Claw" after the Blue Lake Ultra.

Kia ora e te whānau. This week Matt speaks to triathlete, strength and conditioning coach, and endurance athlete Simon Cochrane about his epic 34 laps at the 24 hours Blue Lake to win The Claw, in an impressive 22 hours for 202km, a feat that had never been accomplished. We discuss his history in endurance sport, how one prepares for such a task and his mindset as he traveled just one lap further.  We have a chocka block Stuff You Should Know with a preview of this weeks’ satellite Backyard Worlds Event at Puhinui from Lactic Turkey empresario and original Running Beast Shaun Collins. We have an update on The Wild, all the action from this weekend’s races and finally, FINALLY one of our furry buddies steps up to put paw to paper for this week’s Greatest Run Ever. Enjoy.
