Episode 177 - Adam Keen 2022

Adam Keen, wearing trail running clothes, climbing a hill in bright, hot sunshine.

Adam Keen, keeping it savage, during The Revenant.

Kia Ora e te whānau. When you need wisdom, you don’t always find it in a yurt on the shores of Lake Hawea. But sometimes you do, and in this episode Eugene and Matt certainly did. Aerobic Edge head honcho Adam Keen interrupts a much-needed holiday to drop wisdom about coaching Brooke Thomas and Emma Timmis, managing yourself in the summer heat, the appropriate mindset for training, and life. Adam talks us through the epic adventures he has had over the summer and hammers home the point repeatedly that ‘staying savage’ (just, you know, google him) doesn’t equate to ‘being stupid’. With the uncertainty that we are all facing at the moment with Omicron rearing its ugly head and many big races looking dicey at best, Adam’s simple and stoic advice is just the tonic you need. For those of you last week who suggested an Adam Keen drinking game it’s time to pour yourself a cold one.  Enjoy!
