Episode 124 - Dan Jones, Ruth Croft, Andrew McDowall and the DCR Kirihemete Ultra
Kia Ora Whanau. For our last show of the year we can only say “Gosh, that escalated quickly”. For the first (and probably last) time we come to you live from the salubrious environs of Digicake studios with the wonderful Andrew McDowall. We bring you a live cross from iso-queen Ruth Croft, who talks about racing in Europe, her 0430 car park half marathons and why it’s defo better to boil an egg in a kettle than poach it. Our main conversation is with Dan Jones, 3 x Kepler Winner, Olympic hopeful and all round legend. Dan tells us about how his 5 week training camp in Kenya turned into a 5 month adventure, the joys of multisport and his background as a product of the US collegiate circuit. Interspersed throughout is our year in review, we break down FKTs, pick apart our highlights of the past year in DCR, answer a bumper listener mailbag, and generally have a grand old time - because at the end of a hectic 2020 it just felt like the right thing to do. From us to you, we wish you a holiday season full of love, light, and wellbeing. We hope you get muddy ankles, and we’ll see you back in the first couple weeks in 2021. Enjoy.
