Kia Ora Whanau. This week Eugene and Matt are stoked to get to speak with Glenn Sutton. We tried last week, however Glenn was out supporting his mates on a 91km push from Geraldine to Tekapo and whilst up for a chat, the reception wasn’t. Golly, this is worth the wait. We talk about Big’s Backyard, and how the man who is the only New Zealander to finish Badwater 135 three times (!!!) considers himself a “beginner” at the format, because … of course he does. This is a great yarn, Glenn, in his understated way lays out his philosophy on endurance and resilience, and whilst we ... you know ... don’t advocate doing either Northburn or Badwater with a fractured pelvis; we also understand that everyone has their own limit. Glenn talks hot boxing (not THAT type), running in the extremes of climate, and how above all else, family. We also bring you Eugene Ulysses Bingham’s Auckland Half Marathon Odyssey, results (whereby it seems like every doctor in New Zealand won something running-related this weekend) Stuff You Should Know, and an excellent Greatest Run Ever (from a doctor, of course). Enjoy!
