Kia Ora Whanau. For our third instalment of Dirt Church Radio we turn the gain all the way up with a rip roarer of a conversation with Altra New Zealand Honcho Grant Guise. We talk to Grant about his journey from running around in circles in Riverton, to making carbon fibre ski mountaineering gear in the French Alps. Grant takes us through just what ski mountaineering is, and how this eventually led to him becoming hooked on alpine and ultramarathon running. We then veer all over the place discussing Hardrock (which Grant has completed twice), Punk Rock (of course), our identity as runners,  to his preparation for Le Integrale - a 144 km Mountain Ultra in L’Echappee Belle, France. Dunedin based whilst his wife attends medical school, Grant then takes us on a whirlwind tour of the local scene and the realities of being self employed in the Aotearoa/New Zealand trail running industry, importing multiple brands, and how he came to fall in love with Altra shoes. We spring the Greatest Run Ever question on Grant and generally have a whale of a time. For bonus awesome, Matt- exhausted, giddy, and sleep deprived, calls out Ted Nugent. Good Times.
